Through the years we have noticed many trends in behaviour for couples coming in to find their wedding rings, to name a couple of the less positive we would have to go with:

  • Expecting to get life-long wedding rings for less than £100 for both people
  • Expecting to get bespoke wedding rings the same day.

We would always recommend going for nothing less than 9ct gold, this means that silver is a no-no in our books. Yes it stays white and keeps the price down, but silver is not a good every day metal, and ultimately will not wear as well as Gold or Platinum.

If you think about it this way, for something that you will look at everyday, surely you want to ensure that you completely love it, and know that it will last? With High Street Jewellers a common form of losing this sentimentality is when you go in to re-size your wedding or engagement ring, more often than not, they will save money or not hold enough faith in their rings to re-size them, instead they replace them for a completely new ring. Something that we would always avoid, because we understand the connection people feel between their engagement and wedding rings.

Our wedding ring showroom holds over 1500 samples of wedding rings for you to come in and try on, these are silver samples and give a perfect idea of how the ring will be made in your chosen metal, this also allows for tailoring of the rings to ensure that you get exactly the wedding ring you need to sit next to your engagement ring.

So although you won't be walking out of the showroom with your wedding ring on the same day, and you need to have foresight to plan about 3 months before your wedding, you will definitely reap the rewards, knowing that you will not have to compromise on a design, or have a ring that does not match your engagement ring perfectly.

The saying 'you buy cheap, you buy twice' has never been so fitting, so ensure that you budget a good proportion of your wedding budget to uncompromising wedding rings, and know that the rings you purchase will be perfect. We would recommend a budget of £500 mininum as this delivers a high quality wedding ring for you to wear and love, knowing that you have not compromised on a cheap wedding ring.
